Ever since I was a child, I knew I would have a sanctuary one day. Horses and animals have always been a huge part of my life and bringing people and animals together is the most rewarding gift I am blessed to be able to do.

Spending time with the animals allows me to get to know all of their unique personalities and build bonds with them. I love taking care of them and the peace it brings me.

I value all of my connections with the animals just as much as I do with my human connections. Their personalities and the love that they give, unapologetically, never goes unappreciated by me.

I have been a volunteer for two years. I love being part of the farm and interacting with the vast array of different animals. I am very proud to be a part of the fantastic mentorship program we offer to children in our area. There is nothing better than making a difference in someone's life, while enjoying the love that we receive from our amazing animals.

For me, the most rewarding part of being a part of Delmar Farm is the beautiful connection with the animals and humans. At the farm, you can be your authentic self, and that is priceless. Most of all, I love to love on the animals that are here, in their forever home.

The picture says it all...the animals at Delmar Farm...they are full of life, love and occasionally, mischief. They bring me joy.

What do I love about Delmar Farm? All of the animals. Every one of them with their own personalities, there's always one or more that make me laugh. I have my own conversations with all my critter friends.

After retiring from a 25 year career in the fire service, I was searching for a place to help others. My daughter and her boyfriend had been volunteering at the farm so I thought I'd give it a try. I was hooked after my first day. The love and therapeutic energy of the animals is unlike anything I've experienced and it has been life changing.

I love volunteering at Delmar Farm because it allows me to spend time with amazing animals while supporting a place that gives them the love and care they deserve. It's incredibly rewarding and I feel a sense of importance in the process that is making a difference in their lives.

Volunteering at Delmar Farm has been such an amazing experience. The people here are truly exceptional, and their absolute devotion to the animals and the sanctuary's mission is so inspiring to be around. Plus, their equine-assisted mentorship program does incredible work helping young kids and teens build confidence and connect with the horses.

No words can describe the enjoyment, energy and good vibes you get when you're in the presence of these beautiful creatures. Knowing, even in a small way, that you are helping them live their best lives brings incredible joy and happiness. Like they say, "Who rescued who?"

I serve as a mentor at the farm, using the unique connection with animals to create a safe and encouraging space for kids to grow, build confidence, and feel supported. Being able to invest in them while doing something that I love makes the farm incredibly special to me. 

Being a part of the Delmar Family has given me a greater sense of purpose. Taking care of animals that are in need and doing what I can do to keep the farm going for them is important work.

I love being a part of Delmar Farm Sanctuary because it gives me a place to connect with animals, spend time with an amazing group of women, and escape the busyness of everyday life. It has become a peaceful, meaningful place where I can simply be present, give my time and love, and leave feeling happier and more fulfilled. 

I retired after 25 years in a private practice as a paediatric nurse practitioner. I've also been a registered nurse for 47 years. Currently, I take care of my five horses, two dogs, two cats and two turkeys. I'm certified in natural horsemanship and I have pretty much only worked with children and horses my entire life. I now serve as a mentor at Delmar Farm. 

Delmar Farm is truly my happy place. There's something so special about spending time with animals, caring for them, and being part of a place filled with so much love and kindness.  

I love volunteering at Delmar Farm and it means the world to me that I can take care of and love these animals. No words can describe how happy the farm makes me and how grateful I am to be able to help out.

Whenever I go to the barn, I always love feeding and giving love to the horses, especially Cash. There are so many ways that Claudia and her team help these animals and I love that I have the privilege to help! 

I love helping at Delmar Farm! The environment is so great and welcoming and I love helping to care for and love on the animals!

Delmar Farm's staff are some of the kindest people you will ever meet and coming here truly heals you in ways you never could have imagined.
